Arapaima Fly Fishing

Fishing Brazil Adventures is a specialized fishing tour operator offering an exclusive Arapaima (Pirarucu) fishing package in the heart of the Amazon.

The program includes 2 to 6 full fishing days, with capacity limited to only 8 anglers, ensuring privacy and premium fishing conditions. Access is via a round-trip domestic flight from Manaus to Tefé (not included).

Uacari Lodge is located inside the Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve, approximately 600 km west of Manaus, between the Solimões and Japurá Rivers. Created in 1996, Mamirauá was Brazil's first Sustainable Development Reserve and remains the largest protected arapaima reserve in the world, combining biodiversity conservation with responsible community-based tourism.

Fishing takes place in an extensive system of lakes and channels, which changes seasonally. During the high-water period (January to June), flooded forests create vast inland fishing areas. As water levels drop in the dry season, interconnected channels concentrate fish and provide outstanding fishing opportunities.

The reserve is dominated by Amazonian black water, naturally dark from forest tannins yet remarkably clear, offering excellent sight-casting conditions for multiple species. Anglers fish from custom-built flat skiffs by Untamed Angling, designed specifically for fly and lure fishing in the Amazon.

Flights between Manaus and Tefé are operated by Azul Airlines and must be booked separately, either online or through your preferred travel agent. Upon arrival at Manaus International Airport, guests are welcomed by our English-speaking local staff, providing full assistance from arrival to departure.
